Webinar Description

There are books, guides, and courses that cover the many different individual bootstrapping tactics. However, with so many different options available, what founders actually need is a bootstrapping strategy to focus their limited time on the right tactical options.

In this session, you will learn how to systematically evaluate key bootstrapping options based on their relative cost and risk. This will allow you to prioritize the lower-risk and lower-cost options first.

What is Bootstrapping And Why Do It?

Raising formal, outside capital (equity from angels/VCs or loans from a bank) is expensive and extremely difficult for early-stage founders.

We define bootstrapping as any growth capital strategy that doesn’t require raising formal outside capital. Bootstrapping can help you:

  • Avoid raising outside capital for as long as possible - or completely.

  • Achieve value-creation milestones that increase the enterprise value of your business - allowing you to negotiate from a position of strength if you must raise outside capital later.

Key Takeaways

By the end of this session, attendees will:

  • Understand the relative cost and risk of different bootstrapping options.

  • Walk away with a visual “heat map” of bootstrapping options from green (low cost/risk) to red (high cost/risk).

  • Have a practical framework to pursue the lowest-cost, lowest-risk options first.
